I am an associate professor (without tenure) in the MIT Department of Political Science and holder of the Institute's Silverman Family Career Development Chair. My research focuses on American politics, often from a historical angle, but I also work on political methodology and statistics. I am currently finishing a book project based on my dissertation, which examines public opinion and congressional representation in the one-party South in the 1930s–60s.
