Welcome!

I am an associate professor (without tenure) in the MIT Department of Political Science and holder of the Institute's Silverman Family Career Development Chair. My research focuses on American politics, often from a historical angle, but I also work on political methodology and dabble in comparative and international politics. My book, The Unsolid South: Mass Politics and National Representation in a One-Party Enclave, was published by Princeton University Press in September 2018.
