I am an assistant professor in the MIT Department of Political Science, but for the 2016–17 academic year I will be on leave at Princeton University as a visiting associate research scholar at the Center for the Study of Democratic Politics. My research focuses on American politics, often from a historical angle, but I also work on political methodology and statistics. I am currently working on a book project based on my dissertation, which examines public opinion and congressional representation in the one-party South in the 1930s–60s.
